About Sumud

Sumud (صمود in Arabic) means "steadfastness" - an act of unyielding resistance and defiance. Among the Palestinian people, both inside of historic Palestine as well as in the diaspora, it signifies a deeply ingrained cultural value. Sumud is the ability to both endure and resist the oppression in all its forms, whether physical, psychological or cultural.

Our online store offers a curated collection of books exclusively on Palestine and Israel, tailored for the Swedish audience.

We believe that education and knowledge through reading in particular are powerful forms of resistance. By delving into these books, you not only gain insight and knowledge, but also join the continuum of resistance and Sumud, affirming the enduring spirit of Palestinian identity and struggle.

Our store also showcases selected products made in Palestine or by Palestinians.

All profits are donated to human rights organisations working on the ground in Palestine.

Donations will be made on a quarterly basis (every 3 months) based on preliminary financial reports, to the following organisations: UNRWA, Doctors without borders (Läkare utan gränser), PCRF (Palestine Children's Relief Fund) and PRCS (Palestinian Red Crescent Society). The list of organisations might change depending on their involvement and/or other relevant information.
